Welcome to the FilamentBot technical support and quick-start guide. Whether you are using a Bambu Lab, Creality, Prusa, Anycubic, or other FDM 3D printer, use this guide to get optimal print results and resolve common issues.
1. Printer & Bambu AMS Compatibility
- Universal 1.75mm Standard: All our filaments are manufactured to a precise 1.75mm diameter (±0.02mm tolerance), fully compatible with 99% of FDM 3D printers on the market.
- Bambu Lab AMS & AMS Lite: Our spools fit directly into the Bambu Lab AMS and AMS Lite. If using cardboard spools, we recommend using a reusable printed spool edge adapter (spool ring) to prevent edge wear and ensure ultra-smooth rotation.
2. Recommended Printing Parameters
| Material | Nozzle Temp | Bed Temp | Print Speed | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard / Matte PLA | 190°C – 220°C | 50°C – 60°C | 50 – 300 mm/s | Easiest to print, cooling fan 100% |
| High-Speed PETG | 230°C – 250°C | 70°C – 80°C | 40 – 200 mm/s | Stronger, fan 20–50%, keep dry |
| PLA-CF (Carbon Fiber) | 210°C – 230°C | 55°C – 65°C | 50 – 250 mm/s | Requires hardened steel nozzle |
3. Quick Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
-
First Layer Not Sticking / Warping:
- Clean the PEI build plate with warm water and dish soap to remove finger oils.
- Lower your printer's Z-offset slightly (e.g. 0.02mm) for optimal first-layer squish.
- Increase bed temperature by 5°C and disable cooling fan for the first 3 layers.
-
Stringing & Oozing:
- Lower nozzle temperature by 5°C – 10°C.
- Increase retraction distance and speed in your slicer settings.
- If you hear faint popping sounds, the filament has absorbed moisture. Dry in a filament dryer box at 50°C for 4–6 hours.
-
Extruder Clicking / Under-extrusion:
- Raise nozzle temperature by 5°C – 10°C to reduce flow resistance.
- Check for partial clog or filament dust buildup in the extruder drive gears.
